What is your refund policy?

Should you need to cancel, we will provide a refund up to two business days before your first day of class or first scheduled lesson (whichever comes first), minus a $30 processing fee. We do understand that situations and emergencies beyond our control may arise; therefore, special accommodations can be made for certain students if we deem them appropriate.

Do you charge a cancellation fee?

If you fail to show up for a lesson or do not cancel or reschedule on our website at least 24-hour advance, you will be charged a $30 late cancellation fee.

Driver Ed Class

Does classroom have to be completed to start behind-the-wheel?

Yes. Once you have completed the class, we will allow you to book your dates through the website.

What happens if I miss a day of class?

During the school year, we provide one make-up day for a 3-hour session. If you miss more than one day, you will have to retake the class. During the summer months, we do not provide make-up days as classroom sessions are 6 hours. If you miss a day, you will have to retake the class.

Do I need a permit to start class?

No permit is required to take the driver ed class. The student must be at least 14.5 years old by the first day of class.

What do I do after I receive my Certificate of Completion?

First, you must schedule an appointment to take your written test at an NC DMV Driver License office. Next, you/your parent/guardian must contact your high school and get a Driving Eligibility Certificate (DEC). This verifies that a student is enrolled in school and has demonstrated adequate academic progress toward graduation.

Do you rent your vehicles for road tests?

No, we do not rent out our vehicles as our insurance will not cover them unless we (the instructors) are in the car. Even if you can provide your own insurance, we still are unable to accommodate this.

Are your instructors licensed?

Yes, each of our instructors is licensed by the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles to teach classroom and behind-the-wheel training to all age groups.

How old do I need to be to start driver ed?

You must be at least 14.5 by the first day of the driver ed class.

How long does it take to complete driver ed?

The completion time depends on age, scheduling flexibility, and instructor availability. Typically, each student is done with the 30-hour classroom portion and 6 hours of behind-the-wheel within eight weeks.

Do I need a temporary license to start driver ed?

If you are 18 or older, you'll need a valid, unexpired North Carolina learn license or driver's license to start driving lessons. If you are under 18 and have taken the driver education class, you'll need a valid, unexpired learner permit to start driving lessons. If you are between the ages of 14.5 and 17, you do not need a license or permit to take our driver education class.

How do I transfer from another school?

Call, email, or visit the website of the previous driving school or high school where the student has taken and completed the 30-hour classroom portion and request and fill out a release of records form. Once this is complete, email us, and we will contact the other school and advise you of your next steps and when you can book behind-the-wheel training.

Behind-the-Wheel

How fast can I complete behind-the-wheel lessons?

This depends on your scheduling flexibility and instructor availability. You can take one 2-hour behind-the-wheel lesson each day and schedule up to three driving lessons in advance. So you could schedule Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Once you complete Monday's lesson, you could schedule another for Thursday.

How do I schedule a behind-the-wheel lesson?

Log in to your student account on our website. Choose an available time and your preferred instructor.

Do I need to have my own car insurance for behind-the-wheel?

No, you are covered under our commercial insurance during all behind-the-wheel training.

Can I use my own car?

No, our vehicles have safety features (i.e., passenger brake, passenger mirror, student driver signs, and topper) that don't come in standard cars.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my driving lesson?

Should you need to reschedule a lesson, you may do so by logging into your account on our website. You must cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a $30 late cancellation fee.

Will I have other students in the car with me?

No, we provide private one-on-one behind-the-wheel lessons for all students.

Will I have the same instructor for every lesson?

Our scheduling software lets you see all available driving lessons and who is teaching them. You may choose the same instructor for each lesson if they are open or try a different instructor.

Can I request a specific driving instructor?

Our scheduling software lets you see all available driving lessons and who is teaching them. If your preferred instructor is open, you can select them for a lesson.

What will I learn during my behind-the-wheel lessons?

For novice/beginning drivers (teens and adults), we start with a step-by-step process working on basic maneuvers specifically taken from the North Carolina Driver Handbook. For more experienced drivers (adults), you can inform your chosen instructor of what you would like to improve upon, and they will tailor a plan to suit your needs.

When can I start the behind-the-wheel lessons?

You can start driving lessons any time as long as you have a valid North Carolina learner permit or driver's license. You can schedule driving lessons on our website once you have registered and paid in full. If you are under 18, you must complete the driver ed class before you can start behind-the-wheel lessons.
